Burke Cox grew up in Birmingham, AL where he attended Homewood High School.  He earned a Bachelor of Computer Engineering degree from Auburn University in 1993.  He currently resides in Fairfax, VA with his wife Heather and their two children, Riley and Ryan.

He is Chief Executive Officer of Stelligent Incorporated.  Stelligent is headquarted in Reston, VA and specializes in advanced software components for expert developers. It is a subsidiary of JNetDirect Incorporated, where Burke also serves as Chief Executive Officer.

Burke is active in state and national politics and is particularly interested in issues involving education. 

He serves on the industry advisory board for the Auburn University Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering and the advisory board for the George Mason University College of Information Technology and Engineering.  In 2003, he was named as the Outstanding Alumnus for the Auburn University College of Computer Science and Engineering.

Burke is currently a member of the Auburn Alumni Association Board of Directors.

Burke and Heather are life members of the Auburn University Alumni Association and are members of the Metro Washington Auburn Club.  They are both active advocates for Auburn University and other education causes.

The purpose of the Metro Washington Auburn Club (MWAC) is to support Auburn University and to foster the Auburn spirit. With over 300 members, the club is able to host college gameday viewing parties, flag football, a Spring dinner, picnics, and other activities. MWAC also sponsors a Scholarship Fund through raffles and private donations.
